Mastering Photoshop

One item that will save you a lot of money in pre-production, during production, in post-production, and during the film’s distribution is Adobe Photoshop.

Designing a movie’s logo, credits, titles, posters, and artwork is something that generally can be appraised in the tens of thousands, and that’s money better spent elsewhere. The Adobe package costs around $50 a month, and it comes with everything you need to shoot, edit, and release a movie.

They even have their own free tutorial library at tv.adobe.com and a 30-day free trial in case you're not quite ready to pull the trigger.

A lot of editors are switching to Premiere, and most artwork is done in Photoshop, so I recommend you get in on that action. You'll see more examples of just how useful it can be in later chapters.
