Commit yourself to learn anything and everything you can about the process, and then go out there and implement what you’ve learned in the real world, the result is a movie. A sequence of shots, a story, a character, something real that has your name on it. Something you can take to festivals, a product you can screen and get feedback on. This is the process of materializing your vision.
The key is not to drown in theory, not to read book-after-book about the craft without having the courage to go out there and shoot something on your own. A decent balance would be one book, one film. For every book you read, you make a short (or two, or a feature). Putting your theoretical knowledge to the test is the best way to learn what works, and what doesn’t.
There should be no boundaries to human endeavor. However bad life may seem, while there is life, there is hope. ~ Steven Hawking
