Writing Software

This is a highly debated topic and one that has no right or wrong answer. But because I’ve been repeatedly asked, “What kind of software do you write on?”, I’ll take this opportunity to respond. For me – the app that gives me the most bang for my buck is Celtx, mainly because I can write everywhere and resume anywhere, and it gives me the tools to break down the script, input my shot list, create a schedule, etc. It’s an easy enough, although flawed solution.

Most professionals write on Final Draft – and so did I for a long time, and I might switch back once they upgrade their iPad app (I do a lot of my writing on the iPad). So, the answer to that question is irrelevant – if I couldn’t use Celtx or Final Draft, I’d write my stuff on a Word Document. As long as I’m writing, I’m happy.
