American Acreenwriters Association

 

Our mission is to help screenwriters hone their skills and sell their screenplays. We are dedicated to creating a dialog between screenwriters, producers, filmmakers, actors, and industry to foster mutual success.

The Film School

TheFilmSchool is a non-profit film program located in Seattle, Washington, that focuses on intensive training in screenwriting. TheFilmSchool's mission statement 'to elevate the art of cinematic storytelling' guides the curriculum to heavily emphasize character, structure, and understanding the principles of storytelling. The program was founded in 2003 by Stewart Stern and Tom Skerritt.

Chicago Screenwriters Network

CSN stands as an invaluable resource to Chicago-area screenwriters, filmmakers, producers, directors, and actors. CSN offers its members screenwriting critique and analysis through their script exchange program, networking with film industry peers, a monthly speaker’s program, and a sense of community to members.

Writers Guide of America

The Writers Guild of America is a labor union representing thousands of members who write content for motion pictures, television, news and digital media. The Guild negotiates and administers contracts that protect the creative and economic rights of its members; conducts programs, seminars and events on issues of interest to writers; and presents writers’ views to various bodies of government.

Northwest Screenwriters Guild

The Northwest Screenwriters Guild is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to advancing the careers of screenwriters, filling a major gap in the education and training available to screenwriters and filmmakers from across the spectrum, namely, how to take care of the business side of show business.

The Organization of Black Screenwriters

The OBS began in 1988 to address the lack of black writers represented within the entertainment industry. Our primary function is to assist screenwriters in the creation of works for film and television and to help them present their work.
